What this site collects

Nothing. There is no analytics script, no tag manager, no pixel, no embedded video or font or comment widget calling home, and no advertising. Every asset the page loads — the stylesheets, the scripts, the two typefaces, the search index — comes from this domain, which is not a claim you have to take on trust: the content policy this site sends refuses anything from anywhere else, so a third-party request would not merely be absent, it would be blocked.

There is no account to make, no newsletter to join, no form that submits anywhere and no field that asks you for anything. The one input on the site is the terminal, and what you type into it is handled in your own browser and never sent.

What your browser keeps

No cookies, but that is not the same as nothing. Three presentation preferences are stored locally so the site looks the way you left it:

• theme — dark or light.
• progressive — whether the enhanced presentation is on.
• fx — whether motion and effects are on.

These live in localStorage, plus a pres entry insessionStorage when a link carries settings in its address. They stay on your device, are readable only by this site, are never sent anywhere, and identify nothing — they are three short words about how a page should look. Clearing site data removes them and costs you nothing but the settings.

What the host sees

This is a static site on Netlify, and a server that answers a request necessarily sees the request: your IP address, the page asked for, the time, and the user agent string your browser sends. That is a web server log. It is not something this site switches on, and it is not something a site can switch off — it is the shape of the protocol. Netlify's ownprivacy policy covers what it does with that.

Nothing in this site's own code reads, forwards, joins or stores any of it, and no log is exported anywhere.

Following the site

The feed is the whole archive as full text, which means a reader can follow this site without ever making a request to it again after the first. That is deliberate. Reading by feed is the most private way to read anything.

Getting in touch

There is no contact form and no mailing list, which is the same as saying there is no address here to give away. If something needs saying, theissue tracker is read; so is everywhere else I am.
