Every blog opens with a post explaining why the blog exists, and every one of them is skipped. This one is short in acknowledgement of that.
What this is
Notes on the web — how it is built now, and how it came to be built that way. Frontend mostly, because that is what I have spent my time on, with regular detours into the decisions that got made in 1996 and are still load-bearing.
What this is not
A tutorial site. There are enough of those, and most of them are wrong in the same three ways. If something here reads like instruction, it is probably a warning that has been misfiled.
